Privacy policy
Stirho helps you keep a sankalp: one habit, over a fixed sprint, with something real at stake. It's in private testing and is run by its founder, Ankit Dakhane, in India. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run Stirho, and your choices. If anything is unclear, write to hello@stirho.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in and to write to you about your account.
- If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture. We use the email address to identify your account. We don't use the others.
- What you tell us when you join: the name you'd like us to use, your year of birth (we check you're 18 or over and don't keep the full date), your time zone, and a record of what you agreed to and when.
- Your sankalps: the habits you choose, your targets and dates, what you put at stake, pauses, and your check-ins (when you checked in and any amount you logged, such as pages read).
- Requests to join: while Stirho is invite-only, the email address of anyone who asks to join, when they asked, and whether they were approved.
- Technical records: our sign-in provider keeps a log of sign-ins (including the IP address) for security, and our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs to keep the site running.
Why we use it
- To run Stirho: sign you in, track your sankalps, and work out streaks and ranks.
- To send sign-in emails and, if you asked to join, tell you when you're approved.
- To decide who can join while Stirho is invite-only.
- To keep Stirho secure and working.
- To understand overall use through visitor counts that contain no personal details.
We use your information because you agree to it when you create your account, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time. We never sell your data, never show you ads, and never share your data with advertisers.
Cookies and visitor counts
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Our visitor counts come from Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and records only page addresses, the country, and the kind of device and browser. It doesn't record anything that identifies you.
Who helps us run Stirho
- Supabase stores our database and handles sign-in. Your data is stored in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel hosts the website. Its servers for Stirho run in Mumbai.
- Resend sends our emails, from its region in Tokyo, Japan.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
They process your data only to provide their service to us. Some of this happens outside India, as the law allows.
Signing in with Google
When you sign in with Google, we ask only for your basic profile: your name, email address and profile picture. We use this only to sign you in, and we don't transfer it to anyone else. Stirho's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something. Requests to join are kept while Stirho is invite-only, and deleted sooner if you ask.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of your data, correct it, delete it, withdraw your consent, name someone to act for you, and raise a complaint. Write to hello@stirho.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Adults only
Stirho is for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone younger has an account, we delete it.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Our database is set up so each person can reach only their own data. Only the founder can see requests to join.
Changes
When this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. If a change matters to how we use your data, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
